Outing Heath and Brittan

Heath and Brittan

Former Prime Minister Edward Heath and former Home Secretary Leon Brittan described as “alleged paedophiles” by Breitbart

Edward Heath and Leon Brittan’s names have been bandied around on blogs and websites for years in connection with allegations of historic abuse, but today when the popular right-wing news site Breitbart captioned a photograph of this pair of former government ministers with the words “alleged paedophile[s]”, new ground was broken.

In it, Breitbart captioned this photograph: “Alleged paedophile PM Ted Heath with alleged paedophile minister Leon Brittan”

In an article about allegations against Prince Andrew by the chairman of the Bow Group and director of Conservative Grassroots Benjamin Harris-Quinney titled “The British people must now take control of the establishment paedophile scandal”, the author recounts that he was told that abuse is “just what goes on here” and suggests that “if we do nothing as citizens it will forever be a source of shame for the entire nation”.

Though Harris-Quinney’s article doesn’t actually mention Heath and Brittan in its text, it is telling that Breitbart decided to accompany it with the captioned photograph of them. Plainly, we’re finally reaching the tip of this tawdry iceberg.
