The queen of burgers

Sophie Michell’s unbeatable burger

It’s hard to get a burger right and each and every one of us has a particular way we like them served. Sophie Michell, executive chef at the Belgraves – A Thompson Hotel, is a lady who understands this and one whose version is amongst the best I’ve tried.

We all know people that specify burgers cooked “well done” and others that opt for “almost raw, hardly cooked, as rare as possible”. Some like a burger without gherkins whilst others load them with mustard and ketchup. It’s a love-hate thing but Michell gets it just right. Here is a burger made with passion that comes with caramelised onions, pickles and cheese. It’s well worth £17.50.

    1. Sophie Michell’s burger does indeed look rather scrumptious and delicious. It brings back memories of the Dagwood burgers we bought at the Drive Inn cinema cafeterias back in the day.
I can’t describe in words how inspirational it was going to the local Drive Inn cinema with my goose in the passenger seat next to me. It aroused a feeling of ultimate excitement and passion in my soul.
We watched a flick about Tarzan’s adventures in New York. “Johnny Weissmuller is such a hunk, remarked my goosy” I can still remember the burgers, popcorn, chewing gum, peanuts, nicker balls, and we even had ice cream and candy floss.
Can someone give me directions to the Thompson Hotel?
