A tribute to the King of Gin

Our tribute to Martin Miller

We learnt yesterday via Facebook that the founder of Martin Miller’s Gin and Miller’s Antiques Guides, Martin Miller, had died. Like many others, we were shocked and astounded by this terrible news.

Miller was an inspiration and a genius. A rakish, Dickensian-like figure who dabbled in hotels, academies and social networks variously, this antiques guru was truly one of the finest trendsetters of the last decade.

Our founder, Matthew Steeples – whom was involved in introducing Martin Miller to the first US distributors of his wonderful gin – joins with all at The Steeple Times in raising a G&T to Martin Miller, his widow, Ioana Beju Miller, and his five daughters. There most certainly won’t be another quite like him and Martin will indeed forever be remembered for vastly improving the lives of those of us who truly love gin.

  1. Very sad and shatterring news of Martin^s passing . A truly charismatic, talented, generous, renaissance gentleman, a great host. My thoughts and condolences are with Ioâna , and his family. We have been friends for many years and always admired his spirit , style and joie de vivre. He will be very much missed .
