Fire Côted

A visit from the fire brigade spoils lunch at Côte Sloane Square

Côte on Sloane Square offers a more affordable offering than many of its neighbours. Today, Saturday 22nd March, though, diners got more than they bargained for when the restaurant had a visit from the fire brigade.

Customers and staff were evacuated into Sloane Square
The fire brigade soon had the situation under control

Intelligence analyst Glenmore Trenear-Harvey was on hand to witness proceedings and told The Steeple Times:

“Very stoical and in Titanic spirit, none of the Brit diners reacted as the fire alarm squealed out. Some mothers wisely trundled their buggies out. A few excitable tourists must of thought it heralded the final act at the Royal Court and started to, nervously, shuffle out”.

“I sauntered away and silently applauded the alacrity with which the emergency services appeared and groaned at the sheer dopiness of the gawkers who generally added to the confusion”.

Trenear-Harvey wittily concluded: “Next time, I’ll definitely have steak tartare”.
