President Emmanuel Macron should ignore his critics and continue to enjoy drinking wine
President Emmanuel Macron has ridiculously been accused of “putting French lives in danger” by admitting to drinking wine at lunch and dinner.
In yet another example of political correctness gone wrong, a gaggle of busybody doctors berated Macron for his habit and stated: “Wine represents 60 per cent of the consumption of alcohol [in France and] kills 50,000 people per year.”
Aside from brushing aside “calls for a national alcohol plan to deal with drinking problems” by the doctors, the journalist and essayist Natacha Polony responded by stating: “For the first time in years, a French president dares rehabilitate daily and reasonable consumption of wine.” She is right and we join those urging Macron to simply “drink a little bit more to be sure.”
