Bosi Bags Bibendum

Bosi at Bibendum – Claude Bosi at Bibendum, Michelin House, 81 Fulham Road, London, SW3 6RD – Opens Spring 2017

Claude Bosi to take over Fulham Road restaurant Bibendum after a refurbishment in early 2017

Bibendum in Fulham Road, SW3 was “named after Michelin’s portly mascot Monsieur Bibendum who, in turn, takes his name from the latin phrase Nunc est Bibendum (Now is the time to drink)”, according to the restaurant’s website. Now, though, after thirty years in business, the party’s over and the restaurant is to be replaced by something named Claude Bosi at Bibendum.

The venture, which sees the defunct Hibiscus chef Claude Bosi as an equal shareholder with Sir Terence Conran and Michael Hamlyn, will feature a seven-day-a-week-seafood restaurant, a cocktail bar and a high-end dining room on the first floor that will open from Wednesday to Sunday.

Of the forthcoming restaurant, Claude Bosi commented:

“This is an extremely exciting adventure for me. After twenty years of living and working in the UK, I’m looking forward to cooking my style of food in such an iconic building and putting my name above the door”.

Bibendum will close in January 2017 and Claude Bosi at Bibendum will open in spring 2017.
