John Bercow spotted at the Aegon Championships
The last time we featured John Bercow was in the context of a fracas he got into after allegedly bashing into a Range Rover owned by a “divorced full-time mother” named Nathalie Pulford. Yesterday a reader sighted him arriving at The Queen’s Club after the final had already finished and we make it our Picture of the Week.
In the main image, Bercow is snapped loitering on a pavement with a female companion and a suitcase. As the duo opened and closed a suitcase and busied themselves using their smartphone devices, passers-by stopped to ask to be photographed with the Speaker of the House of Commons.
Naturally, in true Cheshire cat fashion, Bercow – a qualified lawn tennis coach who was once described as being like a “noxiously self-satisfied Chihuahua” – enthusiastically joined in. Thankfully, however, Sally Bercow was nowhere to be seen. Game, set and match.
