This Spaniard held more titles than the Queen and married her third husband, a toyboy civil servant, in 2011. The 18^th Duchess of Alba was said to be worth between €600 million and €3.5 billion, owned a first-edition of Cervante’s Don Quixote and letters written by Christopher Columbus and had the most extraordinary looks. In 2013, she stated: “I confess I am thinking of keeping on living, although it’s only so I can enjoy the expression on people’s faces when I point at them and say I’m going to bury you all”.
