Bang Wrong Boris

Bang Wrong Boris – Boris Johnson is wrong to keep alleged rapist MP – Boris Johnson should be ashamed of himself for allowing the Tory MP accused of rape to carry on working; his decision is utterly wrong.

Boris Johnson should be ashamed of himself for allowing the Tory MP accused of rape to carry on working; his decision is utterly wrong

The Conservative Party was once a bastion of civility. Whether you liked or loathed its politics, you could respect it for a degree of honesty and some form of moral compass.

Now, with news that an unnamed alleged rapist Tory MP is being allowed to carry on working without suspension and will not have the whip removed, we can now say that the party has gone completely wrong. The alleged criminal has “voluntarily agreed not to attend the House of Commons,” but frankly this is simply not good enough.

In any other workplace, someone accused of such a serious crime would not be allowed to continue working at all. They would be placed on leave and they would not be welcomed in any sense.

Boris Johnson has shamelessly protected this man – just as Theresa May did with the “I’m a naughty Tory” Charlie Elphicke – and now he deserves to be condemned for this utterly shocking error of judgment.

Aside from the fact that 36 Conservative MPs were “named and shamed” on a list of “sex pests” by the Guido Fawkes blog in 2017, today came further bad news for the party. An inquest into the suicide of an activist, Jade Smith, 21, heard that she was “threatened, victimised and harassed by senior officials” and “feared being raped or sexually abused” at Conservative Party conferences.”

Bang Wrong Boris – The case of the convicted sex offender and ex-MP Charlie Elphicke and his now MP wife – whom happily accompanied him to court – should have been embarrassment enough for the Tories. One would have thought they would have learnt, but plainly they have not. Shame on them.
