Jeremy Clarkson deserves to be wholeheartedly backed if he does indeed stand for Parliament
The day after the St Leger, the final Classic of the season, was held in Doncaster, BBC Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson announced that he’s considering standing for Parliament there. Many call him a “buffoon” and view him to be unelectable but we believe him to be a man who talks common sense and one most worthy of our backing.
Mr Clarkson is someone who has humour, enjoys life and is the antithesis of the lily-livered politicians our country has sadly come to have as their representatives. Clarkson is from Doncaster North himself and the prospect of him taking on Ed Miliband, one of Labour’s most dreadful leaders ever, is something the entire nation would undoubtedly celebrate.
Though sadly the truthful prospect of Clarkson being elected seems about as likely as the 100/1 Ralston Road had of winning yesterday’s race, The Steeple Times would back him with gusto. Our man The Tout might even offer up better odds if he does indeed decide to stand.
Jeremy Clarkson, like Boris Johnson, is a man who’d shake up British politics. Bring on the Clarkson candidacy.
