Selling Clifford

Selling Clifford – Max Clifford – 10 Onslow Road, Burwood Park, Hersham, Walton-on-Thames, near Weybridge, Surrey, KT12 5BB – Max Clifford house

Max Clifford attempts to sell his bland and frankly boring £3.45 million Surrey home for a million more than he paid for it

Already jailed for eight years and now facing further charges of sexually assaulting a 17-year old girl, Max Clifford has placed his house at 10 Onslow Road, Burwood Park, Walton-on-Thames, near Weybridge in Surrey on the market for £3.45 million through Churchods.

Previously described by the convicted sex offender and paedophile as a being a place that was “perfect for helping [him] relax”, the somewhat bland residence was built by Octagon Developments in 2004 and has been used as a location for interviews about the likes of Gerry and Kate McCann and Heather Mills. It was purchased by Clifford for £2.45 million in 2006 and includes five reception rooms, six bedrooms and a swimming pool.

In 2008, in an interview with The Independent, Clifford spoke about the property and remarked:

“As soon as we [Clifford and his then wife, Jo Westwood] walked into this house we fell in love with the place. We didn’t have to do much work to it at all. All we did is redecorate in our style, lots of pastels, to make the house bright and relaxing. We had the kitchen fitted with all the mod cons as Jo loves to cook – whereas I love to eat but I can’t boil an egg”.

“It has so much space and is surrounded by greenery – it’s the total opposite of all the buildings, traffic, congestion and noise of London. The house is so relaxing and gentle that some might call it bland. But because I’ve got so much excitement in my life, the quieter and gentler everything is at home, the better”.

“I’ve been very lucky to have such a wonderful home. It is a total contrast to the little terrace house in south Wimbledon that I grew up in and that makes me appreciate it all the more… I’ll always know I’ve done it myself. The only person who has made it and paid for it is me”.

Elsewhere, Clifford’s daughter, Louise, continues to practise as a PR and continues to trade on her despicable father’s name. Amongst the far from classy clients to have featured on her roster are Karen Danczuk, the ex-wife of the disgraced MP Simon Danczuk.
