Darth and Death – Meghan McCain on the 2016 presidential elections

Meghan McCain sums up the American presidential elections in two sentences

On Saturday, Senator John McCain’s daughter, Meghan, took to Facebook to share her views on the front-running candidates in the American presidential elections.

Darth and Death – Meghan McCain summed up the 2016 presidential elections perfectly in a post on Facebook on Saturday 23rd April 2016
McCain’s two sentence status update was precise and to the point

In a short post, this 31-year old talk radio host and FOX News Channel contributor summed up the views of the sensible majority. Independently minded McCain – whom once defied her family’s voting habits and voted for John Kerry – simply remarked:

“Trump can have my vote when he pries it from my cold, dead fingers and Hillary is Darth Vadar. This is the worst election in generations”.

Amen.

    1. She’s got it in one. What a lady.

And this is why I love The Steeple Times. You always find something different to every other news site I follow.

    2. Trump is the only one with who can offer leadership and direction. All the other republican candidates are lame ducks!

      • Many Europeans don’t understand the real political importance of Donald Trump’s candidacy. First, he and Bernie Sanders are popular for the same reason – not who they are but for who they aren’t.
The lobbyists for big corporations, whose daily work would result in criminal prosecution in the UK, largely control legislation. They actually write many bills.
The reason for this is that the elected members need their $$$ to campaign to get re-elected. The public has become more and more aware that their votes are largely worthless (I made a documentary about it, The Best Government Money Can Buy). One way or another all US Congressional votes are for sale.
        On the other hand…
Sanders has been financed by his fans – and Trump by himself. That means neither of them is beholden to big corps, billionaire backers (like the Kochs) or to the the party grandees. Their parties can’t control them.
Trump is not, as Americans understand the term, a conservative – he’s a disrupter, and the exciting thing about him is that if he becomes the candidate, that alone will destroy the bigoted, racist, women-hating, undemocratic, religious-extremist, climate-change-denying corrupt Republican Party, as we know it. That means they will lose control of the Senate, and that would be a magnificent result for democracy, which scarcely exists in the US. So, hail Trump!
