Picture of the Week: Victory for Hameron

David Hameron David Cameron

Is a pig named after David Cameron sweeping to victory a sign of things to come?

Yesterday, a pig named David Hameron swept to victory in Devon after a race where micropig Nigel Forage ducked a hurdle in an effort to swerve ahead of the other contestants.

Could David Hameron’s victory be a good omen for David Cameron’s return to 10 Downing Street?

Held at Pennywell Farm at Buckfastleigh in Devon, 6/1 favourite David Hameron easily saw off 12/1 Ed Swiliband and 150/1 Pork Clegg. Pork Scratchings, a fifth pig representing all other political parties, barely put in a performance.

Of the event, Pennywell Farm’s Valerie Bickford-Beers told the Mail Online:

“People always associate pigs will rolling in the mud, but we actually think our race was probably a lot cleaner than the battle for Number 10”.

The results of the Pennywell Bacon Stakes Steeplechase is pretty much bang on with the current odds on the outcome of the General Election. All at The Steeple Times jolly well hope it stays that way.
