May Fernbridge finally be investigated

As police raid the offices of Lord Janner, we urge those running Operation Fernbridge to step up their game

The revelation in the Sunday People that Labour peer Lord Janner has had his House of Lords office raided by the police comes as no surprise following on from our having received many messages about this individual via Twitter for the last year. That this story has now finally been outed is progress but what needs to happen next is for the unconnected Operation Fernbridge to finally be given the resources it requires and deserves.

Lord Janner has not been arrested but has had his office raided as part of an inquiry into child abuse allegations

Though the raid on former QC Janner’s office in March was linked to allegations of child abuse in Leicestershire, it is high time that the establishment moved on the sphere of their investigations into child abuse by other politicians and their associates. We have regularly covered what we perceive to be a cover-up of such in the context of Operation Fernbridge and the Elm Guest House and it is good to learn that 90 MPs are now demanding a probe into why key documents about this vanished.

We salute Labour’s Tom Waton and Conservative Zac Goldsmith for leading a cross-party group that is putting pressure on the hapless Home Secretary Theresa May. It is time that this ridiculous woman acted.
