Maximum nonsense

Max Clifford’s suggestion that Jimmy Savile is to blame for the case against him is without justification

After appearing at Southwark Crown Court today, Max Clifford announced: “But for Jimmy Savile I wouldn’t be here”. He is wrong.

Max Clifford

Mr Clifford was arrested because of the allegations of seven teenagers and though arrested originally by officers working on Operation Yewtree, the charges are not connected to the investigation into Jimmy Savile. His suggestion to the contrary is simply nonsense.

Max Clifford has a habit of twisting the truth on behalf of his clients and in a covertly recorded interview once stated:

“I create a false image. I’m
deceiving people, I’m lying, for sure… I’ve got all the evidence. I’m the
one who’s hidden it from the world. I know where everything is and where the evidence… the proof is. Ten, twenty, thirty years go by and no one
in the world knows”.

Whether he is found innocent or guilty, Mr Clifford would do well to learn one thing from this: The truth (nearly) always outs.
