Booksellers and the public alike mock David Cameron’s ‘For The Record’ memoirs by placing it next to titles about failing and adding comments to its cover
David Cameron called a referendum that was not needed and when, after barely putting in any effort, he didn’t win, he walked away.
Now, after receiving a reported advance of £800,000 to write his memoir in his £25,000 shepherd’s hut, not only were “preorders sluggish,” but copies are being mocked by booksellers and customers in equal measure.
Aside from the Independent reporting that Waterstones in Piccadilly had placed For The Record in the window atop copies of books entitled Posh Boys, Heroic Failure and Why We Get the Wrong Politicians, an eagle-eyed reader saw a similar display in Waterstones in Kensington also. In the window, alongside the previously mentioned Cameron tome, Heroic Failure featured again also, but others in the vicinity included Chastise, Voices of History, 21 Lessons For The 21st Century, This Is Not Propaganda and A Line In The Sand.
Elsewhere and widely shared on Twitter, a copy of the plainly unpopular book on sale in a Sainsbury’s was photographed complete with a little bit of annotation. On Cameron’s forehead, someone had written “C**T.”

With no referendum it would have been full steam ahead for Verhofstadt’s ‘ever greater union’ plan. Incidentally, I had lunch the other day with a just retired MEP. He regaled me with stories of how much MEP’s were creaming with figures of €250,000 a year and the MEP’s from poorer countries( the ones we pay for) sleeping in their offices to gain the allowance. He spoke of the Walk of Shame which led to the Signing In Book so you could claim your €300 daily allowance(tax free) before going back to your flat. The EU is a cesspit of corrupt practice. Verhofstadt has enriched himself to such a degree that he has a spread in Tuscany and races classic Astons. We need OUT now
The fact that corrupt practises are widespread though out the UK,US and every other country the Brexiters wish to deal with appears to have skipped your mind.

Well said the sooner the better. I am no longer willing to pay for Luxembourg to offer cheap tax breaks while the work done is in the real world
Exactly….I struggle to think what Luxembourg has ever produced that I might want to buy!
I rather enjoyed Cameron’s book actually.
