Child beater speaks at Liberal Democrat conference
At the Liberal Democrat conference on Monday, Vince Cable complained that the Conservatives are “like UKIP without the beer” whilst Guido Fawkes shared pictures of delegates sleeping. Worse still – and also highlighted by Mr Fawkes – was news that the conference was addressed by a convicted child beater.
Former Liberal Democrat councillor of 37 years Colin Rosenstiel was convicted in July of knocking a 7-year old girl to the floor in the centre of Cambridge in November 2013. An off-duty police officer reported he’d “smash[ed her] face” and left the child trying crying according to a report in the Cambridge News.
Despite Rosenstiel – who has previous for blocking an ambulance carrying an injured man and for shouting at commuters on trains – having been fined £180 and ordered to pay £155 in costs, he was welcomed to the stage at this year’s Liberal Democrat conference. How incredibly liberal.
