Anthony Marshall to be released from jail

We featured the convicted and finally jailed swindler Anthony Marshall already once today. Sadly, now, we feature him again as it has been ruled that he will be paroled after serving just 60 days.

89-year old Marshall, who spent the last three years appealing his conviction of grand larceny and other charges for changing his mother’s will while she was incompetent, was found to be “suffering from a significant and permanent nonterminal condition, disease or syndrome”. This, said the New York State Parole Board, has rendered him “physically or cognitively debilitated or incapacitated as to create a reasonable probability” that he doesn’t present a danger to society.

Essentially, through this decision, Marshall’s yet again made a mockery of justice and indeed this raises the question: “Who said you can’t buy your way out of jail?” Here, after all, is an already wealthy man who plundered his own mother’s estate and supposedly left her in the most appalling of conditions at the same time.

Shame on the New York State Parole Board for having failed to have seen this elderly criminal for what he truly is.
