Gross in Grosvenor Gardens

Gross in Grosvenor Gardens – 6 Grosvenor Gardens, Victoria, Belgravia, London, SW1W 0DH – Risto Gojkovic - £18 million - £24 million

£24 million house in Grosvenor Gardens, London featured in ‘Mail Online’ isn’t quite what it seems

Monday’s Mail Online reported that the owner of a Grosvenor Gardens “mansion” is set to avoid £400,000 ($574,000 or €526,000) in fees by using an online estate agency instead of a more conventional firm like Knight Frank or Savills.

The exterior of 6 Grosvenor Gardens in Victoria, London, SW1W 0DH gives little away about the tastelessly decorated interior contained within.

That might be true, but what the paper got wrong is that 6 Grosvenor Gardens is in Victoria rather than Belgravia. They also neglected to mention that the 12,640 square foot building is in an extremely polluted street and that it is decorated in a style that is not, as the paper claims, “stunning” but in fact more akin to something that Nicolae Ceaușescu or Saddam Hussein would have proudly opted for.

A dictator would feel at home in this gaudy sitting room.
The only person this vile ceiling would delight would be Liberace.
One of eighteen bedrooms in the property. It is decorated in a style more akin to a student doss house or squat than a palatial residence.
This house near Watford seems like a veritable bargain by comparison.

Offered through personal connections of the now plainly somewhat desperate seller owner Risto Gojkovic for the last three years, this is a house that is nothing special. It needs millions spent on it and the current £24 million ($34.5 million or €31.6 million) asking price is utterly ridiculous given it has previously been marketed for just £18 million ($25.9 million or €23.7 million). If one wanted to live on a noisy highway, one would be better off to go and live in Watford. A perfectly civilized 9-bedroomed Grade II listed house in 3 acres near there can be had for just £1.995 million ($2.866 million or €2.626 million): By comparison, a veritable bargain.
