Belgravia resident The Rt. Hon. Baroness Boothroyd OM, PC, Hon. FSLL – better known simply as Betty Boothroyd – is a formidable lady of stature. Known to be a firm but fair speaker during her tenure, this grand dame of politics has been described by John Major as “outstanding” and by Tony Blair as “something of a national institution.”

In an email to supporters of a People’s Vote last night, 89-year old paragliding lover Lady Boothroyd remarked:

“I have not been too well recently and am under doctor’s orders to rest. But I just cannot stand by and do nothing when so much bad stuff is happening in our politics. So though I can’t be out there making speeches and doing interviews I can write this short message to you and ask you to help the fight to defend our democracy. Because the fight really matters. More than ever. So far, those who believe in democracy are standing strong and holding firm.”

“As a former Speaker of the House of Commons I am so proud of all those MPs from all sides in Parliament who been willing to put our country first, even at the risk to their own careers.”

“In historic votes last night and tonight they have voted to stop Boris Johnson’s undemocratic No Deal, coming together across party lines to tell the Government they cannot use Brexit to divide our parliament from the people.”

“But the battle is now going to become more intense. We know the Government is spending £100 million on propaganda for No Deal. We know they will use every dirty trick in the book to force their Brexit on you. We know we need more money if we’re going to continue to fight.”

We urge readers to do whatever they can to help stop the deranged regime that is currently controlling what happens next. Together, as one can end the chaos.
