A Diamond fundraiser

As Bob Diamond’s wife prepares to host a fundraiser for a Democratic candidate, we ponder whether his daughter will be tweeting about it

The Diamond family are people not afraid to put their heads above the parapet and on the 26th March, Bob Diamond’s wife Jennifer is making her political affiliations clear in hosting a fundraiser for PG Sittenfeld, a 30-year old member of the City Council of Cincinnati and aspiring U.S. Democratic Party senator.

To be held at the Central Park West home of Bob and Jennifer Diamond, the evening is described as a “Sittenfeld for Senate fundraiser… in support of U.S. senate candidate PG Sittenfeld”. Guests will also get to meet Sittenfeld’s mother, the New York Times best-selling author Curtis Sittenfeld.

It is not known if Mr and Mrs Diamond’s daughter Nell will attend but given her previous communications about her political views, it’ll be fascinating to see if she takes to Twitter on the night. In 2012, the daughter of the ex-Barclays boss tweeted in rage about her father’s ousting and stated: “George Osborne and Ed Milband you can go ahead and #HMD”. The insult is defined by the Urban Dictionary as an acronym for “hold my dick”.

  1. Glad to hear the Diamonds are doing good with their wealth. I would support the Democrats if I were American. Britain needs an Obama-like figure now.

  2. Why are the Diamond family not giving a fundraiser in honour of Find Madeleine instead? Surely they could afford to and it would so help dear Gerry and Kate in their efforts to find their beloved daughter Madeleine McCann. Please Mr and Mrs Diamond – SUPPORT FIND MADELEINE.

  3. What ghastly and sycophantic comments here about Diamond and his unattractive brood.
Funny how so many of the scruple free rich in the US get into Democratic politics…a salve for their bad conscience perhaps. The Diamonds really do show that they come from rough Irish American stock…
As for their common and vulgar daughter…
Bb Diamond bought shame on British banking with his unbridled greed.

  4. After what Bobby Boy did in Britain, why would any American aspiring politician want to be linked to him and his lot? Oh….. I forgot………. MONEY, MONEY, MONEY…. IT’S A DIAMOND’S WORLD.
