Reader offer: La Traviata at Winslow Hall

La Traviata by Verdi is to be performed at Winslow Hall - the home of The Hon. Christopher Gilmour and his wife Mardi - this July

Winslow Hall in Buckinghamshire to host fourth annual opera production between 8th and 19th July 2015

Described as “the finest surviving house built by England’s greatest architect, Sir Christopher Wren”, Winslow Hall in Buckinghamshire is once again the setting of the Winslow Hall Opera between 8th and 19th July 2015.

La Traviata by Verdi is to be performed at Winslow Hall – the home of The Hon. Christopher Gilmour and his wife Mardi – this July

This year marks the fourth annual performance at the hall and to mark this, the well-known stage director Ptolemy Christie has chosen to put on Verdi’s La Traviata. The opera will be sung in Italian with English surtitles and performed in a totally enclosed performance marquee with tiered seating.

Given that last year’s performance of Lucia di Lammermoor received reviews that included: “This was like travelling back in time to catch the early days of established events like Glyndebourne or Garsington Opera, and experiencing them at their purest”, we urge readers to book tickets. Winslow is situated just over 1.5 hours from Central London.
