Purple rain

A house kitted out entirely in purple is surely the most tastelessly decorated home in Britain

A 4-bedroomed semi detached house in Hillingdon, Middlesex is a not something we’d normally feature, but given its décor, it was an absolute must.

The front of the house in Uxbridge Road, Hillingdon gives little hint of the cacophony of colour that awaits inside
The sitting room starts the theme off with a most enthusiastic use of purple dominating the decor scheme
A bizarre dining room cum bedroom is primarily purple also
The kitchen doesn’t escape the purple touch either with walls and flooring in the owner’s favourite colour
This bedroom plainly will inspire dreams of Cadbury’s chocolate
The bathroom features a bath surrounded by shagpile and purple tiles even

Described by estate agents R. Whitley & Co. as having “a family inspired design”, there isn’t a room in the 1,532 square foot property that isn’t painted or furnished in purple.

Taking to Facebook to comment on the house, broadcaster Caroline Feraday noted the bathtub wrapped in purple shagpile as her favourite whilst one of her followers asked: “Does Willy Wonka’s nan live there?”

This vision in purple is certainly not a home that’d appeal to the “Princess of Taupe” Kelly Hoppen. R. Whitley should put in a call to Prince instead.
