Described by The Times as “a rural retreat in the heart of town”, this four-storey 6,557 square foot property was built in the year of Schmalz’s birth and includes 7 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a triple height studio reception room and a hand-crafted library that houses some 2,000 books. Though the interior has been designed by Chester Jones for the current owners, the house is being marketed as “[offering] an incoming purchaser scope to rearrange according to their tastes and requirements”.

49 Addison Road is for sale through Russell Simpson and of it Leo Russell commented:

“The sheer size of the home and peaceful ambience inside, you would only expect to find in the countryside, not the heart of one of the busiest cities in the world. It is the perfect home for a family that values privacy as well as a convenient city location — a rare combination”.
