May the force be music

MB&F and REUGE’s truly unique MusicMachine

A collaboration between radical watchmakers Maximilian Büsser & Friends (MB&F) and music box manufacturers REUGE has resulted in the creation of a spectacular “MusicMachine” that looks like a cross between a submarine and something out of Star Trek.

MB&F’s MusicMachine

The MusicMachine, which retails for a surprisingly reasonable £10,500, is not only technologically advanced and configured in a totally unconventional way but is also visually stunning. Produced as a limited edition of just 66 and crafted to include two independent movements, MB&F’s design incorporates mirror image symmetry and individual hand-tuned teeth that sound each note.

Each of the cylinders plays extracts from three tunes selected by MB&F’s creative director and founder Maximilian Büsser – who was previously managing director of Harry Winston Rare Timepieces in Geneva – that include Roger Waters’ Another Brick in the Wall, Deep Purple’s Smoke in the Water, John Williams’ Star Wars, Jerry Goldsmith’s Star Trek and Imagine by John Lennon.

The REUGE by MB&F MusicMachine is available in white or black lacquered walnut. It truly is, as Büsser himself points out, “the Jedi master of music boxes”.
