Aston Martin to launch a new ‘super-sedan’ (but only to an elite few)

When Aston Martin brought out its ill-fated Cygnet in 2011, they initially made it only available to their existing customers. That strategy failed but with the resurrection of the Lagona brand in their new ‘super-sedan’, they’ve taken that policy one stage further: This time the invitation to buy will be limited to only a select few in the Middle East “as a result of specific market demand”.

The 2014 Aston Martin Lagonda ‘super sedan’ has echoes of the 1976 William Towns designed car to it

The four-door car will be built on the company’s Ford-developed VH platform and the prototype has been subjected to 5,000 miles of testing in temperatures of up to 176 degrees.

With echoes of the William Towns designed Lagonda of 1976, this car is certainly stunning in terms of its looks. Though it’s a pity that virtually no one will be able to buy the new version, maybe one or two might end up visiting the streets of Knightsbridge during next year’s ‘Ramadan Rush’.
