1964 Bentley S3 Continental coupé to be auctioned by Bonhams

 

The late Alan Whicker numbered amongst those to have owned a Bentley S3 Continental coupé and now a fine example is to be auctioned by Bonhams at their 8th March collectors’ sale in Oxford.

This stunning 6,230cc aluminium-alloy V8 engined example comes with four-speed automatic transmission and power assisted steering. It is one of just seventy-five S3 Continentals to have been bodied by H. J. Mulliner, Park Ward Ltd after the two firms’ merger and was delivered new in April 1964 to one R. Barron of Lower Darwen, Lancashire.

 

Special features on the dark green with cream leather upholstery car include electric windows, Marchal foot-operated horn, front-seat safety belts, Hirschmann aerial and interior courtesy lights. Having also been used most recently in Spain, the vehicle also benefits from air conditioning.

 

Here, in our view, is a great buy. A guide of just £55,000 to £65,000 has been set for the car.
