An average penthouse

Renting a Knightsbridge penthouse for a month will cost as much as the purchase price of an average UK house

In February, the Office for National Statistics revealed that the average UK house price has hit £250,000 for the first time. For just a little shy of that figure, a super-elite renter could take a Knightsbridge penthouse for a month.

Wellington Court faces directly onto Hyde Park and is next door to the Candy & Candy One Hyde Park development
There are four reception rooms
The apartment includes a bar that wouldn’t look out of place in an hotel
Another feature is a large roof terrace

Marketed by Chesterton Humberts, a 8,139 square foot penthouse in Wellington Court overlooking Hyde Park comes with 6 bedroom suites, “grand entertaining spaces” and even two kitchens. The air conditioned, portered apartment benefits from a roof garden, bar, cinema room and treatment room.

The price? £50,000 per week (£216,667 per month). We’ll take two.
