Offered with a guide price of £104,000 to £128,000 ($147,000 to $181,000 or €130,000 to €160,000), the 6.75-litre, three-speed automatic car has a 10-foot long wheelbase and presented in Red Pearl, piped in magnolia and has a beige mohair hood. Unusually all exterior badges were removed prior to delivery to its first owner, a member of the ruling family of Dubai.

Hardly used and having covered just 9,072 miles from new, this car was the first Series IV Corniche built in the last year of production. It is described by RM Sotheby’s as being in “as-new condition” and “one of the finest late-production Corniches surviving”. As they also add: “Truly great design never grows old”.

Update: 15th May 2016: Sold just above lower estimate for £106,000 ($152,200 or €134,400).
