A Qatari Roller

Rolls-Royce Corniche convertible originally owned by the Emir of Qatar to be auctioned

The late Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani (1995 – 2013), seized power in a bloodless palace coup d’état in 1995 and transformed his country into the richest country in the world per capita. He had three wives and twenty-four children and in 1984 purchased a Rolls-Royce Corniche convertible to use when in London. That car was sold on in 2005 and is now to be auctioned.

Presented in Royal Blue with magnolia leathr piped blue, the car has covered 13,756 miles and has recently been serviced at a cost of £6,000. It has a 6.75-litre V8 engine and given its weight is capable of “wafting” from 0-60 mph in 9.8 seconds.

Silverstone Auctions will sell the car with an estimate of £100,000 to £120,000 ($124,000 to $149,000, €112,000 to €135,000 or درهم‎‎,455,000 to درهم‎‎,546,000) as part of their NEC Classic Motor Show Sale in Birmingham on 12th and 13th November.
