A luxury estate - 1997 Aston Martin V8 ‘Sportsman’ shooting brake

Unusual Aston Martin estate car owned by Richemont director Alain Dominique Perrin heads to auction

“Practical” is not typically a word that could be used to describe an Aston Martin but with the forthcoming auction of a 1997 Aston Martin V8 ‘Sportsman’ shooting brake, an example of such is now available.

Priced with a guide of £250,000 to £390,000 (€350,000 to €390,000) and offered at the Bonhams Chantilly sale on 5th September, the car forms part of a collection offered by Alain Dominique Perrin, the former head of the board of Cartier International and current executive director of the Richemont Group.

A father of five and a member of the international board of the Tate Gallery, Perrin describes himself as being “the first to define modern luxury” and a “pioneer in the fight against counterfeit goods”. His Aston Martin clearly reflects his good taste and is described as a “legendary sedan” by Bonhams.
