Alex Naylor takes a look around LAPADA 2015

The seven-day LAPDA fair in Berkeley Square began with a Lanson champagne sponsored collectors’ preview on Monday signifying the start of the autumn season of such showcases. It features 100 dealer exhibitors from around the world and over 20,000 visitors are expected to attend.

LAPADA is a fair that showcases art and antiques from around the world

Primarily selling items priced between £500 and £500,000, participating dealers include silver specialists J. H. Bourdon-Smith, 18th and 19th century furniture experts Butchoff Antiques and international art dealers Trinity House.

Also at the fair is a bar by Mr Fogg’s styled as the drawing room of the fictional explorer whilst daily events include:

An audience with Chris Ingram of The Ingram Collection and Modern British and Contemporary gallerist Reg Singh of Beaux Arts – Thursday 24th September, 10.30am.

Insights into the Ashmolean Museum’s Titian to Canaletto: Drawing in Venice exhibition – Friday 25th September, 10.30am.

Appollo Magazine tour of the fair with editor Thomas Marks: ‘London’s Masters & Makers’ – Saturday 26th September, 10 – 11 am.

Illuminating Artwork – ‘How to make the most of your art at night’ talk by associate lighting designer at John Cullen, Luke Thomas – Saturday 26th September, 10.30am.
