A Brunei double – Rolls-Royces originally owned by Sultan of Brunei for sale – 1984 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI limousine and 1993 Rolls-Royce Mulliner Spur III touring limousine – £320,000 and £54,000 – Vintage & Prestige Fine Motorcars – Richard Biddulph

Two extremely opulent ex-Sultan of Brunei Rolls-Royces offered for sale

The 29th Sultan of Brunei and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei could never be described as frugal, but the sale of two of Rolls-Royces originally owned by him through Vintage & Prestige Fine Motorcars illustrates this South Eastern Asian royal’s truly extravagant nature.

The first, a 1984 Phantom VI limousine, comes in peacock blue with a pale mint blue interior and deep pile, lambs’ wool royal blue carperts. It is described as being “one of the best Rolls Royce Phantom VI limousines available in the world”. The car is equipped with “ice cold air conditioning”, a “full cocktail cabinet” with decanters and cut glass tumblers and a sound system complete with four aerials. It is is priced at £320,000 and has covered just 23,000 miles from new.

The second, a King of Denmark blue Mulliner Spur III touring limousine, is much cheaper and offered for £54,000. It has 33,000 on its clock and was one of five ordered new by His Majesty Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Wad’daulah (حج حسن البلقیة معز الدین وعدالله) in 1993. Described as featuring “the very best of Rolls-Royce ergonomics”, the car has two heated reclining rear seats “with an additional jump seat of a bodyguard or cocktail waitress depending on preference” and has a bulkhead bar with a TV, video and sound system with a ten CD changer. A refrigerator is located in the seat divide, an electric division and a cellular phone in the central arm rest provide yet further luxury.
