70% off (but still £24 million)

Guigné Court, Hillsborough, California, CA 94010

Priced at £81 million ($100 million, €94 million or درهم367 million) when we featured it in March 2013, Curbed San Francisco reports that a Californian estate named Guignécourt has been reduced in price to just £24.17 million ($29.85 million, €28.03 million or درهم109.64 million).

Known alternatively simply as 891 Crystal Springs Road, Hillsborough, stands on a plot of 47 acres and originally was marketed with a catch – the owner, Christian de Guigné IV (now aged 78), wanted to stay until he died.

Built by his family circa 1918, the mansion extends to 16,600 square foot and features design by the celebrated decorator Anthony Hail (1925 – 2006), whose clients and circle of friends numbered Truman Capote, Gore Vidal, David Hicks, Andy Warhol and James Garner. It is offered for sale by Brent Gullixson of Gullixson and is described as “a hidden treasure on the San Francisco peninsula”.
