Zach Matari: “What’s on your mantelpiece?”

The Steeple Times asks singer Zach Matari: “What’s on your mantelpiece?”

The Steeple Times shares “wit and wisdom”. What’s your guiding force?

Passion.

“Don’t get even, get medieval” is, in our humble opinion, a great motto. What’s yours?

“Argue for your limitations and they are surely yours”.

Kerry Katona was considered unacceptable in 2007. Who or what is unacceptable in 2013?

People who don’t wear deodorant.

Tony Blair misses being Prime Minister. What do you miss most in your life?

High school.

What might you swap all your wealth for?

Health, happiness and someone else’s wealth. Just kidding the first two.

Donald Trump was once a case of: “If you owe the bank a thousand, they close you down; but if you owe the bank a billion, you own the bank”. What’s your view on the banking crisis?

Start trickling down the bailout to the masses.

What phrase or word do you most loathe?

“I can’t” or “you can’t”. The words that I think should be used wisely are “love”, “hate” and “friend”.

In the UK, some people consider charity to “begin at home”. What’s your view and what causes do you personally support?

I support all charities by either donating my time or money. I personally support the charities American Cancer Society, Anti-Bullying and Teen Suicide Awareness.

The judge in Law Abiding Citizen states: “I can pretty much do whatever I want” before being blown up whilst answering her mobile phone. What’s your view on the appropriate use of such devices?

Never, never, ever at the dinner table or during polite conversation.

Singer Zach Matari

If you could fill a carriage on The Orient Express, who would be your fellow passengers?

Stevie Wonder, Muhammad Ali, Ghandi and Warren Buffet.

If you were unfortunate enough to end up on death row, what would be your last meal and where would you eat it?

A big bowl of Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes and cold milk. I would eat it on top of the Empire State Building.

What time is it acceptable to consume the first drink of the day?

To each their own.

A Negroni, a martini or a cup of tea?

A spot of tea. Decaf with fresh mint.

Whose parties do you enjoy the most and why?

Other peoples’ parties. That way, I don’t have to think about the clean up.

Who is the most positive person you know?

My mother.

What’s your most guilty pleasure?

A great song or an insane riff.

If a tattoo were to sum you up, what would it be of?

I don’t really care for tattoos.

If you were a car, what marque would you be?

An Aston Martin because I like to keep it classy.

Cilla Black presented Surprise, Surprise. Tell us the most surprising thing about you.

I love surprises.

What’s currently sitting on your mantelpiece?

Dust and lots of space for future EGOTs.
