Website of the Week: Letters of Note

Correspondence that most certainly does deserve a wider audience

Lettersofnote.com was established in 2009 and gets more than 1.5 million visits per week. The website includes letters from individuals as diverse as the Queen, Mick Jagger, Ernest Hemingway and a little boy named Jim Berger who wrote to Frank Lloyd Wright to ask him to design a house for his dog.

Fans of the website number Stephen Fry and Nick Hornby and now – after a successful campaign on Unbound – the pages are being turned into a book of the same name.

In this, the era of text messaging, Instagram and Facebook, the art of letter writing has been somewhat lost. Lettersofnote.com attempts to rebalance this and for that reason we make it The Steeple Times Website of the Week.
