The progress of Pippa

Pippa Middleton becomes a contributing editor for ‘Vanity Fair

Pippa Middleton is most definitely someone who could be described as polarising. Some resent and mock her. Others admire her for having panache and being enterprising. Miss Middleton, the sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, to the surprise of some, has recently added another string to her bow and become a contributing editor to Vanity Fair.

Announcing the appointment, Graydon Carter, the magazine’s editor, commented:

“We’re delighted to have Pippa as a contributor to Vanity Fair… She’s a keen observer of classic British pastimes. She is also an avid sportswoman, and we look forward to her take on traditional English pursuits, beginning with Wimbledon”.

Pippa Middleton is now a contributing editor for “Vanity Fair”
“The Huffington Post” joined the many media organisations making fun of Graydon Carter’s decision with this mocked up spoof cover

Carter’s decision attracted wide-scale criticism from many, but Daisy Buchanan of The Guardian sensibly surmised that:

Vanity Fair is a society magazine, and Middleton leads the kind of socially active existence that its readers identify with or aspire to. She might not be able to write searing political commentary, but she can use the knowledge and skills that her connections bring her in a practical way… If one of Carole Middleton’s children can land a coveted editorial position in this difficult climate, maybe there is hope for all of us”.

Game, set and match.
