REVIEW: ‘Ghislaine Maxwell: An Unauthorized Biography’

Ghislaine Maxwell - An Unauthorized Biography by Kirby Sommers

Matthew Steeples reviews crusading campaigner Kirby Sommers’ latest work, ‘Ghislaine Maxwell: An Unauthorized Biography’ and recommends it as a riveting read

Kirby Sommers’ exploration of the life of Ghislaine Maxwell is like nothing else on this sinister subject. It is a must read for anyone with a vague to mild fascination with how this privileged socialite morphed into a mucky madam prior to her trial in November – if that even goes ahead given the previous July start date got quashed.

Whilst many will have watched television documentaries and listened to the countless podcasts about this curious case – some of them fascinating, some of them crackpot crazy, trivial and trite – Sommers’ investigatory technique has produced a study that is thorough and forensic. Here, indeed, is someone truly honest and focused on proving that a fact is not a fact until she’s checked it’s a fact.

Delving into elements of Maxwell’s life not examined elsewhere – such as her life in London in the 1980sGhislaine Maxwell: An Unauthorized Biography is an account that takes the world of the decidedly deviant daughter of ‘The Bouncing Czech’ to a new level. Sommers begins with a tellingly creepy quote from that very man – “I have a beautiful daughter and she’s just like me” – and proceeds to highlight just how deeply intertwined Maxwell and her cohort and on-off lover Jeffrey Epstein’s activities were with the establishment and royalty, politicians in America and Britain and intelligence services worldwide truly were.

Sommers’ escapade through the (dirty) ‘little black book’ of famous faces that has been repeatedly wrongly credited to Epstein, but which is clearly Miss Maxwell’s contact rolodex is definitely hard going, but it has to be. What we are dealing with here is a subject matter that is beyond tough and as we approach the next stage in this filthy yet riveting saga, a few hours spent reading this detailed tome will set you on the road to understanding what is yet to come.

This rocketeering rollercoaster is far from done, but I promise you this: Kirby Sommers is a crusading force to watch in the coming years. Ghislaine Maxwell better watch out, but so should so many others as this tenacious terrier-like investigator always gets to the heart of the matter.

Unlike other works on the Maxwell family, Kirby Sommers truly provides illustration of how ‘Grubby Ghislaine’ was genuinely her father’s favourite child.
Sommers begins with a quote from the mucky madam herself. It clearly provides evidence of the contempt of this wicked woman for those allegedly abused by herself and Jeffrey Epstein.
A quote from Alexander Acosta provides explanation as to how deeply the pugnacious pair’s relationship was with very, very powerful people.
On Twitter yesterday, Sommers cryptically answered the conspiracy theory that ‘Bouncing Bob’s’ daughter might be “Epstein’d” by stating: “There other plans for Ms. Maxwell.”
Kirby Sommers appeared on Shaun Attwood’s ‘True Crime Channel’ to discuss how her own story intertwined with the Epstein-Maxwell case earlier this summer.
