Eating for Elephants

Matthew Steeples hosts a dinner to raise funds for the International Fund for Animal Welfare’s elephant conservation work at Granger & Co. Chelsea

On 30th September, The Steeple Times’ Matthew Steeples and the International Fund for Animal Welfare’s Richard Marriott gathered an eclectic group of friends and supporters to raise funds to support the charity’s work to conserve elephants in Panda-Masuie in Zimbabwe.

The evening event encompassed a drinks reception, three course dinner, a speech by IFAW’s  vice president for conservation and animal rescue Jason Bell and an auction of books, handmade velvet slippers kindly donated by Arthur Sleep and an acrylic on glass painting by William Cookson.

Those present included Heather Bird Tchenguiz, Chris Boadle, James Dove, Anne England, Patrick Fullick, Enzina Fuschini, Alexis Parr, Melleney Samsudin, Matthew Singh, Navjot Singh and Angelo Valentino. All concerned were delighted to support this worthy cause and a good time was had by all.

  • Thank you to Matthew to organise this memorable and good cause evening. I personally love Elephants. trough Centuries Man has used them to fight wars and their avoiry has and it is sold for great amounts of money. Man has to stop to kill and abuse Elephants, we need them in their natural and wild expression to blend in with their community that embrace people and generation. So let’s us all support this great cause for our Planet and future generations!! X

  • Wow. Looked like a successful turnout and a great night. Well done Matthew for a fab cause!
