Dershowitz Ditched – Larry David Snubs Alan Dershowitz

As he faces a court showdown with Virginia Roberts Giuffre, Ghislaine Maxwell apologist Alan Dershowitz gets deservedly snubbed by his now former friend Larry David

Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm star Larry David was rightly lauded after calling out the lawyer and Ghislaine Maxwell apologist Alan Dershowitz as “disgusting” last week after “bumping into him at a grocery store in Martha’s vineyard.”

In an interview by telephone with Isaac Chotiner – published in The New Yorker on Tuesday 19th July – the emeritus professor of law at Harvard declared he had been “cancelled” for “daring to defend” Donald Trump and stated of his encounter with David:

“What happened is – it’s interesting because I was having lunch with a very radical lawyer who loves me. I mean, he disagrees with me. We argue all the time, but he is not part of the Chilmark crowd. So I was having lunch with him and then a number of other people were there. Suddenly, Larry David walks in to buy some groceries. I say, ‘Hey. Hi, Larry,’ and he turns away, and he just walks away. I say, ‘Larry, can’t we at least talk?’ He said, ‘No. You’re disgusting.’”

“He said, ‘I saw you pat Mike Pompeo on the back.’ It’s true. I did. Here’s the story. It was the Abraham Accords, or the movement toward peace in Israel under the Trump Administration, which I played a central role in.”

Asked if he’d watch Curb Your Enthusiasm again, the leading Ghislaine Maxwell apologist curtly responded:

“No. Because I know that the Larry David that’s in Curb Your Enthusiasm is not a fictional character. He’s the real Larry David… If you know that he’s the real Larry David, that curmudgeon, the nasty guy.”

Elsewhere last week, Virginia Roberts Giuffre – whom accuses Dershowitz of sexually abusing her on at least 6 occasions and claims him to be “engaging in revisionist history” – revealed that she is seeking a date of March 2023 for their defamation. The lawyer and retired Harvard professor has previously claimed to have never met the woman Prince Andrew paid £12 million to in spite of also claiming to have never her and has also called her a “certified, complete, total liar.”

The BBC was rightly forced to apologise for giving the loudmouth lawyer airtime in December 2021 after Ghislaine Maxwell’s conviction in New York. On Twitter, their press team declared giving the lawyer the opportunity to speak “did not meet the BBC’s editorial standards.” They added that they subsequently realized that he “was not a suitable person to interview as an impartial analyst, and we did not make the relevant background clear to our audience.” They concluded: “We will look into how this happened” yet unsurprisingly no heads subsequently rolled.

The pair liked to portray themselves as sophisticated, but frankly both of them have ended up as being portrayed as grasping, grubby gropers. Of the latter, the former told the ‘Miami Herald’ in June: “Everybody missed it. My wife and I never saw young girls at that house. There was never a young girl in that house. There was never a picture of a young girl in that house. There were pictures of [former President Bill] Clinton, and other prominent people.” Of Virginia Roberts Giuffre, he added: “I want all the $20 million [in civil settlements] she’s gotten to be taken away from her and given to the real victims,” Dershowitz said. “Which I will do. I want her to go to prison for committing massive perjury. This case will never be over until Virginia Giuffre pays the price for her false accusations.”

At the likely March 2023 trial, lawyers for Roberts Giuffre (pictured above) intend to call in-person witnesses (aside from herself) including David Boies, Sigrid McCawley, Brad Edwards, Paul Cassell, David Stone and Epstein’s first known British victim, Anouska de Georgiou.
Alan Dershowitz was played by Ron Silver in the 1990 American drama film ‘Reversal of Fortune’ with Jeremy Irons as Claus von Bülow and Glenn Close as Sunny von Bülow. The 111-minute film grossed £12.3 million at the box office and was lauded for its “exceptional performances” and “cunning script.”
