The Stupidity of The Standard

BoJo’s Wikipedia Weirdness – Wikipedia entry for Boris Johnson must be seen.

Boris Johnson blabbered on and commented: “This gives the EU a continuing veto. We should junk forthwith the backstop that makes a complete nonsense of Brexit.”

In backing Boris Johnson as the candidate best able to “give Britain back its mojo” today, the Evening Standard lets down London suggests Matthew Steeples

London is a city that voted ‘remain’ in 2016 and one that did so incredibly clearly. Across all boroughs, 59.9% (2.26 million people) voted in favour of remaining in the EU and in some areas the percentage was as high as 70%.

Now, today, in announcing they are backing Boris Johnson as the best candidate to become the next leader of the Conservative Party, the so-called “Londoner’s paper” that is the Evening Standard, has shown itself as a title that doesn’t represent the views of the city for which it is published.

That the Standard’s editor George Osborne – a man who walked away from the chaos the government he served as chancellor in – is now supporting Boris Johnson – a man at the helm of creating the Brexit mess we are now in – is beyond ridiculous. For him to argue that “Mr Johnson is the country who might just get Britain feeling good about itself” and “it’s BoJo who can give Britain back its mojo” is nothing but cringeworthy and today we call out the Evening Standard for what it truly now is: Completely out of touch.
