Charlie and Rebekah Brooks cleared of all charges
Two years ago, in the bar of a Chelsea restaurant, Charlie Brooks told me that the charges against him and his wife would go away and today he’s been proven right.
I’ve long claimed that Rebekah Brooks has been subjected to being pillioried and placed in the role of scapegoat for the phone hacking scandal and with today’s verdict, she can now hopefully put this sorry episode behind her.
Ms Brooks was, to many, the ideal figure to pin the blame on yet she stood firm and has proven she had no role in the shocking activities that went on at News International. May Charlie and Rebekah Brooks now be allowed to get on with their lives.
