That the hypocrite Prince Harry and his tedious twerp of a wife have come to rely on Sir Elton John to defend them about sums up how ghastly they truly are suggests Matthew Steeples

Prince Harry used to be the kind of guy one would enjoy having a pint of beer with. He was fun loving yet dedicated to military service and appeared to be someone with a genuine joy for life.

Now, in the wake of marrying the frankly nothing but self-serving pest that was formerly known as Meghan Markle, this royal has morphed into not only an utter bore, but also become a tedious hector. Aside from being banned from going shooting, forced to do yoga and not even allowed tea or alcohol, the Duke of Sussex has started lecturing the populous about how many children they should have and about the consequences environmental damage to the planet.

In one post on Instagram last month, Prince Harry and his busybody wife announced:

“Only now are we starting to notice and understand the damage that we’ve been causing. With nearly 7.7 billion people inhabiting this Earth, every choice, every footprint, every action makes a difference.”

Sadly, however, this mantra plainly does not apply to him or his wife and the fact that they have flown on four private planes in recent days shows them to be utter hypocrites.

With news that one of these journeys was funded by Sir Elton John has rightly come criticism and in response the singer pompously tweeted:

“I am deeply distressed by today’s distorted and malicious account in the press surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s private stay at my home in Nice last week… I feel a profound sense of obligation to protect Harry and his family.”

“’I’m calling on the press to cease these relentless and untrue assassinations on their character that are spuriously crafted on an almost daily basis.”

Sir Elton John is entitled to say and do whatever he wishes, but British citizens are equally entitled to their opinions about the royals given they so freely live off the public purse. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex need to learn one thing and that is that with rights come responsibilities. They need to either accept this and learn to behave appropriately or do the decent thing and do what most of us would prefer: Disappear.

One member of the public took to Twitter to tell the pair to “reign in” their “gas, guzzling, hippocratic [sic] ways!”
Another declared: “You’re becoming a laughing stock.” Many would suggest they became that long ago.
Piers Morgan even joined in with a mocking photo of him flying economy. He later wrote an article decrying the antics of the duo.
