Paedophile Rolf Harris launches bid to overturn his conviction
Rolf Harris’ lawyers have lodged papers at the Court of Appeal as part of an attempt to overturn his recent conviction on 12 counts of indecent assault – indication, surely, that the arrogance of this Australian monster plainly hasn’t faded as he sits rotting in a jail cell.
In a recent Evening Standard article, Jonathan Aitken suggested that Harris could do good during his sentence by becoming a “positive prisoner”. He suggested:
“If Harris opens up, bares his soul and honestly shares his weaknesses with others, his leadership will help his younger fellow sinners to conquer their demons and perhaps prevent future sex crimes”.
“…What a great teacher Harris would be to those who might be encouraged to alter the direction of their criminal lives by finding fulfilment and raising their self-esteem through artistic endeavour. If Harris puts his talent at the disposal of younger prisoners, it would be a big help to both them and his teachers”.
“… Most prisons experiment with musical therapy for some of their inmates. Guitars, drums and other instruments are provided for free. Perhaps Harris could help with guitar lessons, jam sessions and musical workshops to help rebuild the confidence of the many lost sheep in our jails”.
Sadly Aitken has now been proven wrong. Rolf Harris may consider himself innocent but in appealing, all he achieves is to pile more misery on his many victims. Shame on him.
