Evading justice

John Stingemore evading justice

As alleged paedophile John Stingemore mysteriously dies, it is about time Theresa May finally acted over historic abuse allegations

With the news that John Stingemore, a former children’s home manager accused of historic sex abuse, was found dead on Wednesday, came yet another example of another likely monster evading justice. On this basis, it is time that our hapless Home Secretary Theresa May speeded up the inquiry into historic abuse and it is time that other swiftly ageing high profile alleged paedophiles were investigated before they also manage to kick the bucket.

John Stingemore

Stingemore, 72, of St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex, stood accused of 12 charges of abuse at the Grafton Close Children’s Home in the 1970s and 1980s but like Jimmy Savile, will now never be proven innocent or guilty of the allegations made against.

Though she seems to spend more of her time shopping for shoes and socialising with the likes of the ‘charitable’ Lady Meyer than anything else, Theresa May has an opportunity to do the decent thing. It is time she used her powers to bring the most powerful abusers to justice.
