EXCLUSIVE – James Stunt responds to offensive media reports about himself rationally and reasonably
Presented in those papers this weekend as a Howard Hughes-esque megalomaniac, Stunt – speaking exclusively to The Steeple Times this morning – countered those wholeheartedly false allegations.
Objecting to The Sun article most specifically – which was titled ‘Nasty Little Stunt’ – the 38-year-old highlighted the fact that its author, one Nick Parker, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment suspended for 12 months in 2012.
He remarked: “This man’s shoddy journalistic approach was made clear back then and in writing about me, Parker has again shown his clear journalistic incompetence. He is unfit to be considered anything other than a gutter snipe.”
“In the article, Parker references a ‘rambling tirade of abuse and threats against a businessman and his daughter,’ yet he hypocritically did not opt to name these people. He happily named me and again, I would like to highlight that the aggressor against me is Viscount Rothermere, proprietor of the Daily Mail.”
“I have been subject to vicious targeting by this media menace and his cohorts for too long and I would also like to point to the involvement of my former father-in-law, Bernie Ecclestone also. As a private citizen who is of utterly no public interest, I again call out their behaviour against me as outrageous.”
Going further, Stunt added:
“The fact that this campaign against me has escalated is clearly wrong and that they disgracefully brought my close friend, a lovely young lady who has done nothing wrong named Helena, into this shows utter cowardice. I have nothing further to add, other than to point out that I will not let this drop.”
